Sheffield Cremation Services and Prices

There are several options with regard to cremation services in Sheffield. Grenoside Crematorium, City Road and Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium all offer this option.

Direct Cremation - offers low cost, flexibility and simplicity. Offering the family of the deceased to arrange a memorial or celebration of their life at a later date, at a time and a place befitting the person who has passed away. This could be at the family home, local pub or a place they liked to visit. There is no attendance at the crematorium by family or friends and some funeral directors do not give the facility to view the deceased. At Peter Haigh and Sons we give the family the option to view their loved one before the cremation takes place, at no extra cost.

Direct Attended Cremation - relatively low cost, flexibility and simplicity. We have had several families use this service as the person who has passed away was elderly and did not have many friends or family to attend. At a direct attended cremation you have a fifteen minute time slot, several mourners can attend, you can have music played or read a eulogy or poem to remember your loved one.

Full Service Cremation - The cost of a cremation with a hearse, full chapel service and officiant, which has all the elements for a respectful and dignified send off with Peter Haigh and Sons, ranges from £2785.00 to £2985.00 depending on which crematorium you choose in Sheffield

Disbursements (or third party fees) are services that we pay on your behalf. For instance the cremation fee or officiant fee.

Please note that from 9th September 2024 there is no longer a doctor medical certification fee of £82.00 payable.

Cremation fees at Hutcliffe Wood and City Road are slightly less. All our service prices include everything required for a dignified and respectful funeral service. From your first telephone call to us we will ensure that you are kept informed about the funeral arrangements and will endeavour to ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day.

Flowers, an order of service, webcast at the crematorium or visual tributes at the crematorium are not included. Prices for these can be seen on the ‘Additional options’ page.
